KNOWLEDGE CENTRE
The School of Management is committed to investments in knowledge enhancing activities to enable creation and sharing of knowledge within and outside the school. This is an essential part of our strategy to improve quality of education and in turn succeed into the new millennium.
In fact, the Working Group on Management Education constituted by National Knowledge Commission (NKC) has emphasized the need for management education to pursue greater scope and aim at a more wholesome impact on society has increased. Such thinking is particularly relevant to India, with its diverse socio-cultural contexts. However, the commissions also observed that majority of management education organizations in India are oriented primarily to teaching. The commission suggested that "India needs new wave of management institutions to focus on values of entrepreneurship, leadership and innovation appropriate for the global arena." They should set new standards and become new role models. The School of Management is committed to be a part of this new wave.
We believe that with globalization of Indian economy a lot more research and writing of case studies relevant to Indian context is necessary. However, some of the relevant research done outside can continue to be used selectively after suitable reorientation. The School believes in carrying out high quality research that extends the frontiers of business knowledge to suit changing context and needs of management education in India. The knowledge generated will be brought back to the classroom to discuss and resolve issues facing business and the society. In our pursuit for knowledge generation the school has taken following initiatives:-
