The influence of globalization, growing technological capabilities and power of information networks are changing managerial practices and redefining their roles. Further, these practices are raising fresh challenges for managers and require provision of new knowledge and skills to meet new performance standards. We believe that the changing environment will drive demand for managerial excellence and in turn the growth of management development to effectively assist and support the process of organizational change.
The Centre for Management Development (CMD) was established with following objectives:
1. To promote the professional practice of management development in the corporate, social, government and non-govt. sectors with special emphasis in undermanaged organizations and sectors of economy;
2. To establish effectiveness of management development as one of the determinants of organizational success;
The approach of CMD to management development will not simply focus on task challenges facing today’s managers but also on competencies and skills required to accomplish them effectively. In other words CMD will promote management development as total system of management.
To begin with CMD will primarily engage itself in multi-disciplinary management consulting and managerial training to bring direct economic benefit to the client organizations.
