Details:

Ms. Mohanty had an interactive session with the students and faculty members of KSOM, in which she spoke about the practical aspects of being an HR manager in today’s corporate scenario. Ms. Mohanty shared her experiences with the students, clarifying the doubts they had on what is expected of them on joining an organization. She attributed her own success to her commitment towards her work and made the students realize that there is no substitute for hard work, especially for HR managers as this function is perceived as being more of a cost centre than a revenue center.

Ms. Mohanty, told the students exactly how she overcame the challenges typical to HR managers – of contributing to business, increasing productivity, handling employee grievances and diversity management. She gave a very comprehensive view of what Indian corporations need and what HR managers can do help develop business. The students benefitted immensely from the interactive session with Ms. Mohanty as she presented a very holistic picture of what HR actually is, what the strengths of HR are, the challenges that HR managers face and how to deal with these challenges.
