Mr. Bose started the discussion with how India has changed as a country in the last decade. Today, we have a Global outlook and technology breakthroughs like the Tata Nano has made the world stand up and take notice of the engineering capabilities the country has. Several companies have either started their research centres in India or have outsourced research to the country.

He said that given the increasing complexity of products and a rapidly changing market, PLM is going to play a significant role in managing a product. He added that Siemens is making significant investments in modernizing the PLM experience with HD PLM to help manufacturers get more from their PLM investment.

HD-PLM is more than just user experience. It is a new technology framework designed to unify the PLM experience across all of Siemens PLM’s products. In fact, it is planned to be the common client for all solutions.  He concluded by talking about how this would improve manufacturing effectiveness, provide greater confidence to Siemens customers and how the product is more fun to work with.
